Before you begin:

If you have never served in the military:
You must be at least 21 - 37 years of age, and you must have a minimum of a 2 year degree or 60 college credits to be able to be appointed as a police officer in the city of Northampton.

Or if you have served in the military:
Have receipt of an honorable discharge or release under honorable conditions after two (2) years of uninterrupted military service (presentation of DD-214 military discharge at time of application), and requirement to be actively enrolled at an accredited college or university, attaining at least twelve (12) credits annually until completion of Associate's degree requirements. This requirement would commence upon the successful completion of the department's Field Training and Evaluation Program.



Instructions

1. Answer every question fully and accurately.
2. As an applicant for employment the City will review, if applicable:
• Criminal Offender Record Information (C.O.R.I) and;
• Sex Offender Record Information (S.O.R.I.)
3. If an offer of employment is made to you, the City may identify that it is contingent upon the results of a medical exam and/or a background check.
4. FALSE OR MATERIALLY INACCURATE INFORMATION ON THIS APPLICATION WILL BE CAUSE FOR DISQUALIFICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT OR DISMISSAL AT ANY TIME AFTER EMPLOYMENT.
5. Read certification and releases carefully before signing.
6. If you need an alternative version of this form, please let us know.
7. This application will be kept on file for 3 (three) years.
